Entanglement

This series is an inquiry into "Entanglement" across various registers—philosophical, scientific, and the pragmatic realities of social, economic, and political systems. These drawings are the artist's response to her own lived experiences across the field of relationships and emotions, their intertwining existences, of interconnected energies, their push and pull, ways of being and non-being. (as a mother, daughter, wife, daughter-in-law, an artist...)

This series of work lead the artist to research two disparate theories of 'Entanglement' in– Vedanta and Quantum mechanics—Vedanta, a part of the Upanishads (Hindu scriptures) which raises fundamental metaphysical questions on the existence of various entities; where as entanglement in quantum mechanics challenges  classical ideas of individuality, causality, and the nature of reality.

Both frameworks propose that reality is not composed of independent, isolated entities but rather a unified whole where everything is fundamentally connected.

Vedic texts mention the universe and all life forms being connected through vibrations or energy frequencies (Prāṇa or Vāyu), which can be seen as analogous to the vibrational modes of strings in string theory.

For the artist 'Entanglement' also interprets as a reminder of our interconnectedness with others and the natural world, highlighting our responsibility to consider the consequences of our actions on others and the environment.
